INDIVIDUALIZED UPLAND & RETRIEVER TRAININGDog - Owner - Birds - Trainer: The four elements critical to the basic training and development of a finished gundog worthy of your investment .At Field N' Marsh we put emphasis on the OWNER and the use of gameBIRDS to develop your DOGS. The owner needs to understand and further his dog's development, and game birds can only be used if your dog is to compete on Mother Nature's playing field. The TRAINER is the catalyst for the first 3 elements. Jeff Miller, who has trained gundogs and field trial prospects for over 25 years, ascribes to a training philosophy that encompasses the many styles and techniques he has observed over his lifetime association with dogs and trainers. He is quick to say that all dogs and trainers are like people, different. Likewise, training approaches must change, just as breeding, hunting opportunities, and the environment our dogs live in has radically been altered in the last 20 years.,/p> Individualized training is an outgrowth of this philosophy; game birds are a key component of the program. The obvious advantages of training on game birds are only apparent to people and gundogs who have gone through such a program. Dog owners whose dogs have been with Jeff Miller are very pleased with the results. Dogs develop their natural instincts without being adversely affected by pressure. PRESSURE is the key. We want to communicate to you and your dog, and to complete the circle while you learn with your dog. Your successful day a field, not just measured in game, but the whole experience, is our success. INITIAL EVALUATION:SERVICES:FOLLOW UP:When you and your trained dog go home, we’ll make follow-up calls to track the dog’s progress. We also encourage a tune-up month the following season to continue your dog’s development. This will be at a special rate to return customers. THE FINISHED PRODUCT:Your dog will respond to voice or whistle; be steady to wing, and shot, retrieve to hand on command. The dog will heel on lead and be under your control at all times. Retrievers will in addition have the ability to make land and water blind retrieves, drop, sit, and take hand or whistle signals in the field. We are a short trip from Portland International Airport and can arrange pickup of your dog. We train all breeds - pointing, flushing, and retrieving. Jeff Miller is an accomplished waterfowl and upland guide and hunter, he knows what you need in the field. References available on dogs that he's trained. A deposit equal to the first month's training fees is required to hold your dog's spot in our training program. Monthly billing in advance will follow for additional months and may include the cost of any birds used in training your dog. WE HAVE AVAILABLE FROM TIME TO TIME PUPPIES, STARTED AND TRAINED DOGS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. |
