Step 1. Create your listings by choosing the best category, the type of listing (auction, sale, classifed or want ad) and describing the item.
Step 2. Pay your fees. After you create your listings you pay your fee so that any special features or options you select can be included. Charges and fees are published on the Fees page.
Step 3. Start your listings and make them available to online. Until you start your listings no one will see them. Listings are not automatically started. Listings can run for 7 days, 14 days or 21 days. You can create your own schedule and pre-schedule the listings from your 'Pending' page. This allows you to notify your patrons / buyers off-line or to allow inspection before the bidding/buying begins.
Types of listings you can use...
|   |

|   |
Classified Ads
Want Ad |

|   | Standard Auctions | Winning bids will be greater than or equal to your starting amount. The starting amount is not a secret, it is displayed on the listing. Bids below the starting amount will be accepted for your information. Low bids will not qualify as winning bids. |
|   | Reserve Price Auctions | You specifiy the secret minimum amount, the 'Reserve Price', that qualifies a winning bid. Winning bids will be greater than or equal to your 'secret' Reserve Price. The Reserve Price is NOT made available to bidders. In a Reserve Price auction bids may begin as low as $0.01. |
What happens when you start your listings...
Running Listings - Starting a listing is assigning a beginning date/time and an ending date/time. When you 'start' a listing it is automatically moved to your Running Listings page.
Buyer/Seller Notification - Registered buyers and sellers are notified of new listings by email. These notifications begin the following business day and continue until every registered user has been sent a notice of the new listings on the site.
Auction Listings - Buyers can place bids on auction listings. Winning bidders will be notified by email.
Classified Ad Listings - Buyers and sellers can contact you by email about classified ads. This includes Want Ads, For Sale Classifieds, and Trade / Barter Classifieds.
What happens when the time is up...
Automatic Restarts - It is true that the ads that run the longest are seen by more people than those that only run for a short time. If your listing does not receive any bids or purchase requests during the time it is running it will be automatically restarted until a bid or purchase request is received from an interested buyer.
These Automatic Restarts will continue for as long as you maintain your membership.
The 'Start Listing' page allows you to start your listing with the Automatic Restart feature turned off.
Closed Listing Notification - When a listing closes without recieving any activity you will be sent a notice by email. You can then choose what you want to do next. To edit, update, duplicate or restart closed listings go to the Closed Listings page.
Winning Bidder Notification - When an auction listing closes and a winning bid has been placed both the winning bidder and the seller are notified by email. If you have one of the payment providers we support tied to your account the winning biider can pay you directly from the page they use to check their bids or from the link to your payment provider that you placed in the description of your listing. When any listing is considered sold and the email notices have been sent it is moved to the Archived Listings page. If a buyer fails to follow through you can duplicate the listing and start it running again. This is easier than re-entering everything from scratch.
Archived Listings - When any listing is considered sold and the email notices have been sent it is moved to the Archived Listings so that if a buyer fails to follow through you can duplicate the listing and start it running again. This is easier than re-entering everything from scratch.
Changing, updating and editing listings...
When you log on with your user name and password we provide links that allow you to work with each of your auction, sale or classified listings. Links for updating your listings are available to you anywhere the listing is displayed.
Advanced features that are available...
Buyers Notification Service - A private email address list in your account. When you use the Buyers Notification Service utility our servers will queue links to your catalog page for delivery to the email addresses you specifiy.
Link To Your Catalog - You have available at no additional charge an online catalog. You can use the http address (properly known as an URL) on other web sites or in messages to your buyers. Get the address (URL) of your catalog and use it.
Pre-scheduled Listings - When you pre-schedule listings they are available for inspection until the starting date and time you specified when you set up your schedule. When the starting date and time arrives bidders and buyers may place their bids or make their orders. Pre-Scheduled Listings are included on the 'Starting Soon' page for our buyers.
Set Up Schedule - Allows you to enter your own beginning and ending dates for auctions and sales so that you can pre-schedule listings in advance and notify your customers. This gives buyers time to inspect the listings and ask questions before the auction or sale opens. This works very well for big ticket items and fund raisers.
Hits and page views at Hunting Fishing Guides.
What is a hit? - A hit on a web site is any access of any file by people or other computer systems. Because sellers creating listings generate hits, logging on to check your bids generates hits, and search engines indexing the contents of our site generates hits it would be very misleading is we quoted the number of hits on Hunting Fishing Guides and used that information to get you to use our service. Instead of recording 'hits' we record page views.
What is a page view? - A page view is recorded when a person other than you or our staff follows a link and views one of your listings. This includes directory listings as well as auctions, classifieds and sales. Recording page views received by your information is a much more accurate way to record traffic than 'hits'. The number of page views your information has recieved in the past 12 months is available on the 'log on' page, Business Directory, and on your account status page. A report of your page views will be emailed to you every 7 days.
